Graduates of the Faculty of Engineering

Nowadays, maintaining a permanent academic formation is indispensable as the demands of the labor market are increasing. Different trainings make professionals more competent, qualified and desired for companies. In addition, constant updating is important to identify opportunities for improvement in our professional performance.

The Faculty of Engineering of Universidad del Valle, in its social awareness and service to the community, has a wide offer of diplomas that are provided through each of the Schools.

Below we present the offer for graduates:

Industrial Engineer

Lean Manufacturing with Six Sigma Fundamentals: This improvement methodology based on profit flow, provides world-class principles and practices with a systemic approach, since it has been implemented for this purpose by many organizations around the world with excellent results.

Fine Practices in Supply Chain and Logistics Management: This diploma seeks to provide participants with comprehensive tools and knowledge necessary for decision making in the complex environment of logistics.

Project Management: Success in developing projects depends largely on good management, so the application and development of techniques, methods and own tools of project management lead to decrease delays Execution, avoid cost overruns and increase customer satisfaction.

Project Formulation and Evaluation: The decision of whether to run a project or not is conditioned by proper formulation and evaluation made from documentation of the problem to the evaluation of market, technical, financial or environmental components as applicable.

System Engineer

Genomic Bioinformatics: The enormous amount of information given by genome projects have made computer science the focus on which analysis and interpretation in studies revolves around.

Statistics

Data Mining: Data Mining is presented today as an alternative to exploring large databases automatically or semi-automatically, with the purpose of finding repeating patterns, trends or rules that explain the behavior of the data In a given context, so that they can be used to predict future behavior, transforming data into proactive knowledge, for decision-making by public and private companies, scientists, universities, among others.

Electrical and Electronic Engineering

RETILAP: In the context of electrical installations in the country, the REPTILAP is binding in different application processes such as electricity for lighting purposes spaces; For which it is necessary to know all the elements involved, and the competencies of the design, construction, and inspection of electrical installations.

Inspection Technique Based RETIE: Retie is a legal, public, legally binding instrument which fixes the technical conditions necessary to ensure general environmental safety, new electrical installations, remodeling and, In the process of expansion, relates to the generation, transformation, distribution and final use of electric energy.

Design of Photovoltaic Installations with RETIE and NEC Standards: In Colombia, numerous projects of Electric Photovoltaic system installations, for which the government has created policies that favor the development of such facilities, are being implemented.

Seminar on Micro Hydroelectric Power Plants: This seminar seeks to update, train, and develop a Microcentral, from ideas to actual construction. The selection methods of these equipment, are used in micro generation and validation of the same through practices in the laboratory, endorsing the application of the pumps as turbines and the connections for an asynchronous motor to operate in a generator regime.

Energy Management: One of the biggest concerns of companies today focus on achieving the optimization of energy resources, and to establish actions, measures and modifications to reduce energy consumption aiming to achieve Energy and economic savings.

Course for Marketers of Photovoltaic Systems: Whenever supply and demand for photovoltaic solar installations increased, but sales and technical staff were not properly prepared for these challenges, therefore, training is necessary, so that they can make their offers, supported by technical criteria and safety considerations adjusted to the current national regulations.

Cinara

Planning and Design of Multi-Stage Filtration Water Treatment Plants: This diploma will allow the addressing of treatment mechanisms, combination of barriers, treatment concepts, design and planning of this type of systems as a viable technological option, Reviewing and explaining their potential, as well as the design criteria and the basic foundations for their sustainability.

Training of Facilitators for Sanitation, Water and Hygiene Projects: Proposes a change of focus on Sustainable Human Development, the generation of participatory processes with a gender focus, strengthening of Community Management and the formation of interdisciplinary teams that act as facilitators of Processes in an interinstitutional working environment.

Integrated Water Resource Management: IWRM provides a strengthening of capacities, which favor the work of decision makers, territorial environmental authorities and other key institutional actors, through training on strategic issues for the implementation of said policy.
